The Parent Trap Soundtrack & Score

Released in 1998

I don't think I've ever listened to an album by Alan Silvestri that I disliked. His compositions are iconic and unrivaled, from Back to the Future and Forrest Gump to Contact, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Practical Magic, and more. It would be difficult to choose a favorite, but if I had to, it would be The Parent Trap, the 1998 remake of the classic Disney film that introduced Lindsay Lohan to a generation. This is tied with You've Got Mail as one of my favorite movies. It's another I've seen more times than I can count, and it is my ultimate comfort movie. The soundtrack is wonderful, with iconic songs like Nat King Cole's "L-O-V-E" and The La's "There She Goes," but Silvestri's score makes me cry every. single. time. As I'm typing this, Hallie Meets Mom is playing and I'm wiping away fat ugly tears. I'm always amazed by the way instrumental music can convey so much emotion.

Check out this interactive snapshot of the offical Parent Trap website from 1999. I've also got some incredible fanmade sites below. Just a heads up that clicking around on these sites may take you out of my website and to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.

Many websites from this era relied on the discontinued Adobe Flash to run animations and other interactive elements. The Wayback Machine uses an emulator to recreate this experience, but some things may still not display properly. Some links and images may also be unavailable if they were not saved when the website was preserved.
